The oil lamp is mostly made from iron and consists of two pointed dishes that sit one on top of the other. It also has a hook so that it can be hung up. The oil and wick are placed in the top dish, while the bottom one is used to collect any oil that might drip when the light is taken. During the 16th century, Basque whalers travelled to far off places in search of precious whale oil. Apparently they supplied enough oil for the lighting of several countries in Europe/1/. Used in so many places, for example, in Scotland, it was called a crusie /2/.

klua combines the digital skills of today with the ancient technique of lost-wax bronze casting.
Once the prototypes have been produced via 3D printing and milled in wood, a specialist company has created the final model. A silicone mould has been made with it for producing the wax pieces. Then these pieces have been coated in zirconium and calcined kaolin. They have then been heated to melt the wax inside before the bronze has been poured in.
After that, the pieces have been released from the mould, they have been polished and a patina has been applied to the biggest one. The item comes with candles that are scented with sage or lavender.
